Women's Golf Places Fourth at Pirate Invitational
Kristyna Abrahamova leads the Blue Devils with a sixth place finish.
The Central Connecticut women's golf team placed fourth at the Seton Hall Pirate Invitational at Trump National in Bedminster, NJ. Freshman Kristyna Abrahamova tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard to lead the Blue Devils.
Abrahamova shot a 79 in the second round to finish at 162 (83-79). She finished 10 strokes back of Megan Mingo (South Dakota State) and Olivia Le Roux (Lamar) atop the leaderboard.
Junior Tara Whelan tied for 12th after shooting a team-best round of 77 on Saturday. Whelan finished at 165 (88-77) and finished just a stroke off of a top-10 finish.
Senior Ella Willams tied for 25th having shot a 170 (89-81) on the weekend. Classmate Kaitlyn Stoddart and junior Cecy Gutierrez both shot a 172. Stoddart shot an 83 on Saturday, while Gutierrez shot an 87 to close out the weekend.
South Dakota State finished atop the team standings with a 632 (326-306). Lamar (646, 336-310) and Seton Hall (658, 341-317) followed and were just ahead of CCSU. The Blue Devils shot 665 for the weekend, including shooting 320 on Saturday.
The Pirate Invitational concludes the fall season for CCSU.
