Mike Arman named Northeast Conference Co-Rookie of the Week.
Freshman Mike Arman of the Central Connecticut baseball team was honored by the Northeast Conference for his play last weekend against Fairleigh Dickinson. Arman was named NEC Co-Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Arman led the Blue Devils offensively last week, hitting a team-best .533 (8-for-15) with three doubles and a team-high four RBI during a four-game set against Fairleigh Dickinson. He reached base safely in all four games and recorded three multi-hit efforts. Defensively, Arman posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, making four putouts.
In CCSU's 13-3 win over the FDU, Arman was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and three runs batted in. He also reached base on a walk in the victory. In the series finale, he recorded two more hits and drove in a run during the Blue Devils' three-run seventh inning.
Arman is hitting .304 on the year and has scored seven runs in 18 contests. In 12 league games, he is batting .342 with four RBI and five runs scored.
The Blue Devils return to action on Tuesday, April 21, with a non-conference game at Siena. Central is currently 11-19 overall and 5-7 in NEC play.
