Martinez Earns Summer Collegiate All-American Honors
Rising senior powered led Golden State Collegiate Baseball League in RBIs.
Matt Martinez, a rising senior on the Central Connecticut baseball team, earned Summer Collegiate All-American honors from Perfect Game it was announced on Wednesday. The outfielder earned honorable mention recognition playing for Top Speed Baseball in the Golden State Collegiate Baseball League.

Martinez, who was named First Team All-League in the GSCBL, was among the league's offensive leaders while batting .385 with 13 home runs and 41 runs batted in. He also slugged .718 and posted a .430 on-base percentage with 40 runs socred, nine doubles, two triples and two stolen bases. Martinez led the circuit in RBIs, ranked second in home runs and third in batting average.
Martinez played a key role in helping Top Speed run away with the league crown, posting a 43-6 season record and a 25-2 conference mark. The squad earned a #8 ranking in the final national Collegiate Summer Baseball Rankings.

Casey Brown (Vermount Mountaineers/NECBL): Ranked second in the league with a 1.25 earned run average, helping the Mountaineers win the league title and earn a #7 ranking in the final national Collegiate Summer Baseball Rankings. Brown went 4-1 during the season for the Mountaineers, who went 31-18. In eight starts, he threw 43.1 innings and posted 24 strikeouts to just 11 walks. He also went 1-0 in two postseason starts.
Connor Fitzsimons (Keene Swamp Bats/NECBL): Played in 33 games for Keene and had a team-high seven doubles and ranked second with 18 RBIs. Also spent time with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod League for the end of the regular season and playoffs, helping the team to the second round of the playoffs. The squad earned a #25 ranking in the Collegiate Summer Baseball Rankings.
Ian Glassman (Allentown Railers/Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League): Helped the Railers post a 37-6 record and win the league championship. Batted .273 in 37 games with 20 RBIs, 20 runs scored, six doubles and six stolen bases. In five playoff games, hit .333 and drove in three more runs with three runs scored. Allentown finished the year ranked #32 in the Collegiate Summer Baseball Rankings.
Dean Lockery (Torrington Titans/Futures League): Hit a team-high .292 in 50 games, with 29 runs scored and 10 doubles. Also knocked in 15 runs and stole two bases. Lockery was named to the All-Star Team and helped Torrington to the playoffs.
Franklin Jennings (Torrington Titans/Futures League): Played in 33 games and batted .278. Led the team with 11 stolen bases, while scoring 13 runs and hitting three doubles.
Nick Garland (Torrington Titans/Futures League): Played 30 games and knocked in 12 runs. Hit one home run and had four doubles, while scoring nine runs.
Ryan Costello (Bristol Blues/Futures League): Helped the Blues advance to the league championship, playing in 48 games and driving in 17 runs. Hit two homers, six doubles, a triple and scored 12 runs.
Corey Lerche (Newark Pilots/PGCBL): Played in 38 contests and batted .244. Scored 11 runs and drove in seven more with a home run, two doubles and a triple to go with four stolen bases.
