Arman Collects Weekly ECAC Honor
Mike Arman named ECAC Division I New England Rookie of the Week.
Freshman Mike Arman of the Central Connecticut baseball team was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I New England Rookie of the Week it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Arman earned the Northeast Conference Co-Rookie of the Week honor on Monday.
In four games last weekend against NEC rival Fairleigh Dickinson, Arman led the Blue Devils offensively last week. The outfielder from Fairfield, CT, hit a team-best .533 (8-for-15) with three doubles and drove in a team-high four RBI. He reached base safely in all four games and recorded three multi-hit efforts. Defensively, Arman posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, making four putouts.
In CCSU's 13-3 win over the FDU, Arman was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and three runs batted in. He also reached base on a walk in the victory. In the series finale, he recorded two more hits and drove in a run during the Blue Devils' three-run seventh inning.
Arman is hitting .304 on the year and has scored seven runs in 18 contests. In 12 league games, he is batting .342 with four RBI and five runs scored.
The Blue Devils return to home to host Stony Brook on Wednesday, April 22, at 3 p.m.. Central is currently 11-19 overall and 5-7 in NEC play.
