Brown helped lead Vermont Mountaineers to league championship.
Casey Brown of the Central Connecticut baseball team capped off a successful summer with the Vermont Mountaineers by being named First Team All-New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL). Brown helped lead the Mountaineers to the league title and was also named to the league's all-star team.
Brown ranked second in the league with a 1.25 ERA during the season. In eight regular season starts, Brown posted a 4-1 record with 24 strikeouts in 43.1 innings, while walking just 11. In the postseason, he started two games and went 1-0.
With the all-league honor, Brown became the latest Blue Devil to earn summer league honors. Classmate Matt Martinez earned Summer Collegiate All-American and All-Golden State Collegiate Baseball League honors while playing with Top Speed Baseball.
