Women's Cross Country Touts Five All-NEC Selections, One All-Rookie
After winning their fourth straight Northeast Conference Championship, the Central Connecticut women's cross country team had five runners selected to the All-NEC teams and one making the All-Rookie team.
The All-Conference teams are made up of the first 14 runners to cross the finish line at the NEC Championship, which CCSU handidly won with three finishers in the top five. The Blue Devils finished with a final score of 32.
The All-NEC team is comprised of Angie Rafter (first place - 17:19.80), Ashley Dana (third place - 18:23.30), Brooke Morabito (fifth place - 18:33.30), Rebecca Carusone (ninth place - 18:54.10) and Kaitlyn Stevens (19:07.70).
Rafter became the first runner in school history to be crowned NEC Champion for the third time after her victory in October. The senior runner had five first place finishes this season. Rafter was also named NEC Athlete of the Week four times out of four possible weeks.
Women's cross country had a third place finish at the Marist Invitational, Tew Owen Invitational and Mini Meet and sixth place finish at the IC4A/ECAC Championships.
