Women's XC Earns 9th of 19 at IC4A/ECACs
CCSU junior Elizabeth Eberhardt finished first for the Blue Devils, earning 10th place out of 177 runners.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team displayed a solid performance at the 104th IC4A/28th ECAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 17 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY. The women placed ninth out of 19 teams in the 5K race, earning 194 total points and placing above Northeast Conference foes Robert Morris and St. Francis (NY) and behind Sacred Heart and Monmouth.
Junior Elizabeth Eberhardt finished first for the Blue Devils, earning 10th place with a time of 18:45.3. Eberhardt was followed by classmate Krisztina Dearborn who placed 15th and crossed the finish line in 18:58.6.
Sophomore Shannon McBride came in 49th place with a time of 19:47.7 and was followed by four Blue Devil freshman, all finishing within the top 100 out of 177 participants. Jazmin Booker came in just under six seconds behind McBride for 55th and Brandy LeClair rounded out the Blue Devil top-five, coming in 78th place in 20:10.9.
Caylee Richardson placed 89th in 20:24.4 and Ally Gates clocked a 20:32.2 for 98th place.
Sacred Heart emerged victorious in the race earning 73 points. The Pioneers were followed by George Mason (120), Fordham University (124), Monmouth (156) and Binghamton (158).
