Women's XC Places 5th at Bryant
The CCSU women's cross country team placed fifth at the Bryant Invitational Saturday.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team placed fifth Saturday at the Bryant Invitational in Smithfield, R.I. earning 139 points.
Junior Krisztina Dearborn took fifth place overall with a time of 18:49.90 and was the first Blue Devil to cross the finish line. Dearborn was followed by freshmen Brandy LeClair who placed 27th (19:58.90), Jazmin Booker in 29th (20:06.40) and Caylee Richardson in 38th (20:32.70). Scoring for Central was rounded out by sophomore Shannon McBride in 40th (20:44.80).
Of the nine teams in the tournament, Quinnipiac placed first with a team score of 38, followed by Sacred Heart (54), Bryant (89) and Monmouth (100). Mount St. Mary's came in just behind Central with 140 followed by Wagner who had 181. Saint Francis (N.Y.) (199) and Fairleigh Dickinson (271) rounded out the field at eighth and ninth respectively.
The Blue Devils return to action Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Quinnipiac Invitational in Hamden, CT.
