Women Finish 5th at NEC Championship
The championship was held at Bryant University
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team finished fifth at the 2012 Northeast Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon. The race was held at Bryant University. Juniors Krisztina Dearborn and Elizabeth Eberhardt both earned All-Conference honors for the Blue Devils. They finished 13th and 14th overall.
Quinnipiac claimed its eighth straight title, followed by Sacred Heart, Bryant, Monmouth and then the Blue Devils.
Dearborn ran 18:34.05 over the 5k course in Smithfield, good for 13th place. Eberhardt was right behind her at 18:35.20 in 14th place. Sophomore Shannon McBride was 28th overall with a time of 18:58.63. Freshman Jazmin Booker was 31st at 19:02.93.
Freshman Brandy LeClair was 62nd with a time of 20:14.84 and classmate Ally Gates finished 67th with a time of 20:20.98.
Quinnipiac finished first with 46 team points, followed by Sacred Heart (54), Bryant (82), Monmouth (117) and then the Blue Devils (140). Mount St. Mary's, Robert Morris, Wagner, St. Francis (PA), St. Francis (NY) and Fairleigh Dickinson rounded out the finihers.
