Women's XC Falls at Quinnipiac Invite
Junior Elizabeth Eberhardt led the Blue Devils with a second place finish.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team came up short Saturday, 19-44, at the Quinnipiac University Invitational in Hamden, CT.
The top finisher for the Blue Devils was junior Elizabeth Eberhardt, who claimed second place in the race with a time of 18:38.60. Eberhardt finished behind Quinnipiac senior Rebecca White who ran a time of 18:11.10. The next runner from Central to cross the finish line was freshman Brandy LeClair who finished the race in 19:59.70 for 10th place. She was immediately followed by freshman Jazmin Booker who ran a 20:00.10 for 11th place.
Sophomore Shannon McBride and freshman Caylee Richardson rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devils, they completed the race in 20:05.60 and 20:06.70 for 13th and 14th place, respectively.
This was the first dual-meet of the 2012 season for the Blue Devils. The team will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 22 for the Ted Owen Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT. It will be the first home meet of the 2012 season.
