Women's XC Finishes 7th of 14 at Mini Meet
The Blue Devils were led by junior Elizabeth Eberhardt who completed the 3K race in 10:37.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team finished seventh among 14 teams at the CCSU Mini Meet in New Britain, CT on Saturday. The Blue Devils were led by junior Elizabeth Eberhardt who finished the 3K race in 11th place overall with a time of 10:37.
Eberhardt was followed by freshman Jazmin Booker, who finished in 26th place with a time of 10:57. In third was freshman Caylee Richardson, who crossed the finish line in 11 minutes for 30th place. Richardson was followed 17 seconds later by sophomore Shannon McBride (45th) and freshman Ally Gates (57th) rounded out the scoring with a time of 11:26.
Freshman Brandy LeClair and sophomore Taylor LePage also competed in the meet for the Blue Devils and finished in 11:44 and 12:08, respectively.
Yale took first in the meet with six runners finishing in the top ten. Providence College took second, followed by Hartford, Bryant, Binghamton and Boston University. The University of Connecticut finished in eighth, trailed by Quinnipiac, Marist, Salve Regina and Eastern Connecticut. Fairleigh Dickinson and Lehman College rounded out the 14 team field.
The Blue Devils will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 27 in Smithfield, RI for the Northeast Conference Championships, hosted by Bryant University. The women's race will begin at 11 a.m.
