Burke Earns NEC Rookie of the Week Honors
After competing at the Holy Cross Invitational this weekend in Worcester, MA, Tristan Burke was named the Northeast Conference's Track and Field Rookie of the Week.
After competing at the Holy Cross Invitational this weekend in Worcester, MA, Tristan Burke was named the Northeast Conference's Track and Field Rookie of the Week.
Burke took third in the 100m dash, crossing the finish line in 10.72. This performance currently places him fourth in the conference standings. He also competed in the 200m dash, placing sixth with a time of 22.20.
Jake Ireland was also recognized by the NEC for his efforts this weekend. He took Central's lone first-place finish of the day in the 800m run, finishing in 1:53.97. Ireland ran in the 1,500m race, taking the runner-up spot in 3:53.97.
The Blue Devils will be back in action on Friday when they host their Blue Devil Invitational at home in New Britain, CT.
