CCSU Men Take First Place at the Bryant University Throws Competition
Central Connecticut Throws had a successful day in Smithfield, RI at the Bryant University Throws Competition on Wednesday. CCSU snagged first place, beating out three other teams, with 62 points. Andrew McCarthy grabbed a first-place finish for the team, while the Blue Devils had a number of top five finishers in other events.
Central Connecticut Throws had a successful day in Smithfield, RI at the Bryant University Throws Competition on Wednesday. CCSU snagged first place, beating out three other teams, with 62 points. Andrew McCarthy grabbed a first-place finish for the team, while the Blue Devils had a number of top five finishers in other events.
McCarthy won the team's lone gold of the day, finishing first in the men's weight throw, with a toss of 16.60 meters. He also placed second in discus with a 45.97-meter throw.
Ed Radzion took second place in the shot put (14.65 meters), followed by teammate Leon Green in third (14.63 meters). Radzion also took home fifth place in both the discus and the weight throw.

The Blue Devils compete again on Sunday at the UMass Invite in Boston, MA.
