Wilson Finalist for College Boot Award
The Soccer News Net College Boot award recognizes the top men's soccer player of the year.
Central Connecticut senior Reece Wilson of the men's soccer team is a 2012 finalist for the Soccer News Net College Boot award. The award recognizes the top men's soccer player of the year as voted by fans, players, and coaches.
Wilson is one of 34 student-athletes across the nation to be recognized as a finalist. Editors of each Soccer News Net site [Big Apple Soccer (www.bigapplesoccer.com), Chicagoland Soccer News (www.chicagolandsoccernews.com), LA Soccer News (www.lasoccernews.com), New England Soccer News (www.newenglandsoccernews.com), Philly Soccer News (www.phillysoccernews.com) and Dallas Soccer News. (www.dallassoccernews.com) and DC Soccer News (www.dcsoccernews.com)] nominated five local players for the award. Each student-athlete will be eligible for player of the year award in that region.
Wilson helped lead the Blue Devils to an 8-8-2 overall record this season with a 6-3-1 mark in the Northeast Conference. He played and started in all 18 games for Central in 2012 leading the Blue Devils in scoring with nine goals. He also assisted six more goals gaining 24 points on the year.
