Men's Soccer Falls to Quinnipiac
Junior Reece Wilson scored his fourth goal of the season.
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team fell to Quinnipiac by a score of 2-1 on Friday afternoon. With the loss Central falls to 8-8 on the season and 5-3 in Northeast Conference play. Junior Reece Wilson had the lone goal of the game for the Blue Devils.
Quinnipiac netted a goal late in the first half and then scored again shortly into the second period. Tim Quigley scored both goals for the Bobcats. His first came unassisted and his second came with the help of Mathew Rothbart.
The Blue Devils fought back into the game after falling behind 2-0. In the 84th minute of play, junior Thomas Obasi passed ahead to Wilson who beat his defender down the sideline. Wilson then beat the keeper to the far side of the net for Central's goal. That goal cut the score to 2-1 with six and a half minutes to play, but Central was unable to score again.
Junior Anthony Occhialini takes the loss in the net. He made five saves while allowing two goals.
The Blue Devils return to action on Sunday with a match at Fairleigh Dickinson. They then return home for their final regular season game on November 4, that will be against St. Francis (NY).
