Men's Soccer Falls to Air Force
Junior Mamoudou Dioubate scored a goal and assisted on the Blue Devils other score.
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team wrapped up play at the New Hampshire Nike Classic with a 3-2 loss against the United States Air Force Academy. The loss drops the Blue Devils to 3-5 on the season. Junior Mamoudou Dioubate led the Central offense with a goal and an assist.
Central and Air Force produced a 2-2 tie at halftime. The Blue Devils opened the scoring with junior Reece Wilson's strike in the 12th minute. Dioubate picked up his first point of the game by assisting on the score.
Air Force quickly answered with John Melcher's goal in the 24th minute and Kevin Durr's goal in the 29th minute.
In the 43rd minute junior Jesse Menzies launched a free kick toward the box, where Dioubate redirected it into the net.
The tie last only four minutes into the second half as Air Force's Brian Klazura delivered a header to give his team the 3-2 lead. The goal proved to be the winner as Air Force hung on for the 3-2 victory.
The Blue Devils will return to action on Friday as they travel to Mount St. Mary's to open Northeast Conference play.
