Kohl Picks Up NEC Men's Basketball Weekly Award
The Blue Devils host North Carolina A&T on Thursday night.
Central Connecticut junior Tyler Kohl was named Northeast Conference men's basketball Player of the Week it was announced by the league on Monday afternoon. Kohl, who earned the award for the first time this season, shared the honor with Dachon Burke of Robert Morris after helping the Blue Devils to a pair of wins last week.
Central returns to action on Thursday, Nov. 30, when it hosts North Carolina A&T at 7:00 p.m.

Kohl just missed out on averaging a double-double with 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in two CCSU wins last week. He posted his first career double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds in Tuesday's 74-71 victory over Coppin State that saw Kohl score six of his points in OT, including the go-ahead free throws with 50 seconds to play. The Allentown, PA, native added 10 points, nine rebounds and six assists as the Blue Devils extended their win streak to three with a 74-73 road victory over Cleveland State on Friday.
On the year, Kohl leads CCSU with 15.5 ppg, 8.5 rpg and 4.8 apg. He ranks second in the NEC in assists, third in rebounding and seventh in scoring. Kohl has grabbed at least seven rebounds in every game and has posted 20 points in a game three times. CCSU has had student-athletes earn NEC Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks after junior Deion Bute collected the award last week.
The Blue Devils, who are 3-3 on the season, have won three straight in November for the first time since the 2012-13 season.
