Men's Basketball Faces Cleveland State on Friday
The Blue Devils tip off against the Vikings on ESPN3.
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team travels to Cleveland State on Friday to close out play in the Showcase on the Banks event. Tipoff from the Wolstein Center is set for 5:00 p.m. and will be carried live on ESPN3.
The Blue Devils have won two straight games after dropping Coppin State in overtime on Tuesday, while the Vikings will be looking to rebound from a loss at ECU on Monday.

LAST TIME OUT • Central Connecticut erased a double-digit second half deficit to defeat Coppin State, 74-71, in overtime on Tuesday night at Detrick Gymnasium. The Blue Devils had four players in double-figures and junior Tyler Kohl had a double-double. CCSU won its second straight to improve to 2-3 on the season, while Coppin State fell to 0-6. Kohl finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds, including 16 points after halftime. Sophomore Joe Hugley added a career-high 15 points, while junior Deion Bute chipped in 14 points and eight rebounds. Senior Mustafa Jones had 10 points and nine rebounds. Central would trail, 18-5, in the opening half and then erased a 39-29 margin after halftime. CCSU scored the final four points of the game to win its second straight.
BUTE NAMED NEC PLAYER OF THE WEEK • Junior Deion Bute was named the NEC Player of the Week on Nov. 20 after averaging 15.0 pts, 10.0 reb and 1.5 blocks and helping CCSU to its first win of the year. Bute posted his first career double-double in a win at ECU. He scored 11 points (5-7 fg) and 11 rebounds in 35 minutes. Bute opened the week scoring a career-high 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting at St. John's. He also grabbed nine rebounds against the Red Storm.
KOHL DOING IT ALL • Junior Tyler Kohl leads Central in scoring (16.6), rebounding (8.4) and assists (4.6) and ranks among the top 10 in the Northeast Conference in each category. Kohl has posted at least 20 points in a game three times and posted his first double-double with 19 points and a career-high 10 rebounds against Coppin State. He nearly had a triple-double with 20 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in CCSU's win at ECU.
