Men's Basketball Opens Practice for 2017-18
The Blue Devils open the season at Hartford on Nov. 10.
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team opened the 2017-18 season with its first practices beginning over the weekend. Under second-year head coach Donyell Marshall, the Blue Devils will tip off the season against Hartford on Friday, Nov. 10.

In Marshall's first campaign, CCSU posted its most wins overall since 2013-14 and had Northeast Conference wins over three of the top four teams in the league, including eventual league champion, Mount St. Mary's. The Blue Devils are slated to return three starters (senior Mustafa Jones, junior Austin Nehls, sophomore Tyson Batiste) and seven letterwinners overall. Central's roster will be bolstered by three junior college transfers and two freshmen for the upcoming season.
Centrall will host Nyack College for a preseason exhibition game on Thursday, Nov. 2, before beginning the regular season at Hartford on Friday, Nov. 10. Central will host Coppin State for its home-opener on Tuesday, Nov. 21. The Northeast Conference tournament opens with the quarterfinal contests at campus sites on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
NEC Basketball "Social" Media Day is set for Wednesday, October 25, at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, NY. The event will be carried on NEC Front Row and ESPN3.
