The Central Connecticut football team will host Saint Francis U at Arute Field on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devils (1-4) and Red Flash (1-3) met at Arute Field last season with CCSU earning a 32-30 victory. This season's meeting will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com.

Today's Game
It is Homecoming Weekend in New Britain and the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut are opening Northeast Conference play with the Red Flash of Saint Francis U. The Blue Devils (1-4) are coming off a 42-7 loss to Rhode Island of the Colonial Athletic Conference last Saturday. Saint Francis (1-3) also lost last week, falling to Fordham of the Patriot League 38-20. Today's game features two of the top running backs in the NEC and Division I FCS in CCSU's Rob Hollomon and SFU's Kyle Harbridge. The duo currently ranks first and second in the NEC in rushing yards and rushing yards per game. Last season, the Blue Devils earned a 32-30 victory over the Red Flash with Hollomon running for 207 yards and three touchdowns.

Today's game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com as part of the Northeast Conference's Football Television Package. Veteran NEC TV broadcaster Paul Dottino will have play-by-play duties with former NFL player Jeff Feagles serving as the analyst in the booth. Another veteran of NEC broadcasts, John Schmeelk, will serve as sideline reporter for the game.
Up Next for CCSU
The Blue Devils next game will be Saturday, Oct. 12, at Sacred Heart. CCSU fell to the Pioneers, 34-21, in a wild game last season, which was also a road game for the Blue Devils. Following the Sacred Heart game the Blue Devils will have a week off before hosting Salve Regina on Oct. 26. With a road game at Wagner to follow on Nov. 2.
Series History
This is the 21st meeting of the football programs of CCSU and SFU. The Blue Devils have posted an impressive 17-3 record over the Red Flash, including a 10-0 mark at home. In addition, CCSU is 6-1 against Saint Francis under head coach Jeff McInerney.
100+ Rushing Yards
The Blue Devils have rushed for 100+ yards in 28 consecutive games. The last time CCSU failed to reach 100 rushing yards was Nov. 6, 2010 against Robert Morris.
Last Season's Meeting
Last season CCSU and SFU met at Arute Field on October 27. The Red Flash jumped out to a 13-0 lead, but CCSU captured the momentum on SFU's second PAT attempt. CCSU's Chris Linares blocked the kick attempt and returned it for the Blue Devils' first points of the game. Rob Hollomon had one of the best games of his career with 307 all-purpose yards, 207 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. Nick SanGiacomo threw for 212 yards and a fourth quarter touchdown to help CCSU to the victory.
Last Homecoming
Last season the Blue Devils entered Homecoming with an 0-5 record, but the squad came ready to play and knocked off Duquesne 38-31.
