Patterson Earns All-NEC Second Team Honor
On Wednesday, junior Kiana Patterson was named to the 2018 All-NEC Second Team.
Central Connecticut junior team captain Kiana Patterson was announced as a 2018 All-Northeast Conference Second Team selection on Wednesday morning by the league's front office. Patterson leads the Blue Devils in scoring, putting up 13.8 points per game and is dishing out a team-best 3.3 assists per contest.
In the Northeast Conference, Patterson ranks third in three-point field goal(s) made (76), per game (2.62), and percentage (.409). The empire state native was honor as the NEC Player of the Week on two occasions (Nov. 13; Feb. 7) this year.
The long-range sniper wrote her name in the CCSU program record book in two separate categories in the 2017-18 regular season finale last weekend. Patterson broke her own school record for most three-pointers made in a single season (71, 2016-17) on Sunday, March 4 at LIU Brooklyn.
The junior extended the record to 76 makes from behind the arc after draining seven three-pointers, the second-most in Central women's basketball history against the Blackbirds, en route to posted a new career-high 26 points.
Patterson and the seventh-seeded Central Connecticut women's basketball team will compete for a trip to the Northeast Conference semifinals with second seed, Robert Morris, at 4:30 p.m. today in the first quarterfinal game at the North Athletic Complex in Moon Township, PA.
