Blue Devils Welcome Brown for Home-Opener Thursday
CCSU tips off inside Detrick Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m. against Brown Thursday night.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team hosts Brown University in its 2017-18 home-opener on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7:00 p.m. inside William H. Detrick Gymnasium in New Britain, CT. The contest marks the 10th meeting between the two squads in program history.

LAST TIMEOUT • The Blue Devils return to their home floor after opening the 2017-18 campaign with two road contests at "Power 5" members, West Virginia and Virginia. CCSU fell in both contests and was led by junior Kiana Patterson who averaged 16.5 ppg in 54 minutes of action. Brown enters its second contest of the year after defeating Northeast Conference opponent Bryant, 85-62, at home on Sunday, Nov. 12.
BATTLING THE BEARS • Sophomore Justine Gaziano led Brown past the Bulldogs with a game-high 23 points. Juniors Taylor Will and Shayna Mehta added 17 and 16 points, respectively. The Ivy League foe returns all five of its starters to the lineup this year from a team who earned its first program victory in the 2016-17 WNIT Postseason Tournament.
SERIES HISTORY • Brown holds a 3-6 advantage in the all-time series record with the Blue Devils. The last time Central met up with the Bears was back in the 2010-11 season with the CCSU prevailing 52-44 inside Detrick Gymnasium.
