2017-18 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
Central begins its non-conference campaign with a challenging road trip to West Virginia (Big 12) on Nov. 10 and will then face the University of Virginia Cavaliers (ACC) two days later (Nov. 12). The Mountaineers of WVU and CCSU have only met one other time back in the 2010-11 season. Central's second match at UVA will mark the first in program history.
On Nov. 16 the Blue Devils will open at home against Brown (Ivy) before heading to central Pennsylvania to face Penn State (Big Ten) on Nov. 20.
Following the game at PSU, Central will return to New Britain, C.T. for a pair of games after the Thanksgiving holiday against two first time opponents. On Nov. 27 and 29 the University of Albany (AE) and Morgan State (MEAC) will visit Detrick Gymnasium.
The Blue Devils will kick off the month of December with another trip to Pennsylvania to take on Atlantic-10 member, Duquesne, in Pittsburgh, P.A. CCSU will then return back to the Nutmeg state for two contests against in-state rivals. On Dec. 6, Central will play at Hartford (AE) and will then host Yale (Ivy) on Dec. 9.
Central will play back-to-back away games at two America East opponents, Stony Brook (Dec. 17) and Vermont (Dec. 21) to conclude the non-conference.
The women's basketball team returns three starters from last season as well as six newcomers. Among the returns is junior Kiana Patterson (11.2 ppg), who started in all 31 of CCSU's games and was second on team in scoring last year, junior Andi Lydon (8.7 ppg, 6.7 rpg), and sophomore Ashley Chin (3.7 ppg, 2.1 rpg).
Season ticket information for the men's and women's basketball season will be available in October. The Northeast Conference schedule will be released later this week.
