Blue Devils continue road trip at Monmouth on Sunday
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision in Northeast Conference action at Mount St. Mary's on Friday afternoon. The loss drops the Blue Devils to 4-6-5 overall and 1-4-3 in NEC play this season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Nikola Deiter made six saves in the contest, it was the second straight 1-0 loss for the Blue Devils.
Mount's Sadie Winship notched the only score of the game with less than three minutes to play in the first half. She took a pass from teammate Mary McCarron and found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead before halftime.
Mount St. Mary's is now 5-8-2 overall on the season and 3-4-0 in league play.
The Mount had a 12-10 advantage in total shots, each team had six shots on goal. The Blue Devils held an 8-5 edge in corner kicks.
Central will continue the road trip on Sunday at Monmouth beginning at 12 noon. It is their final road game of the regular season. They complete their home season on Friday night, Oct. 28, at home vs. Quinnipiac at 7 p.m.
