Softball Wins Three-Game Series Against FDU
Central Connecticut State University softball defeated the FDU Knights 1-0 this morning in the final game of their three-game series. The Blue Devils came out on top, going 2-1 to improve their conference record to 10-5.

FDU threatened in the first when Abbey Hoesman singled down the left field line with two outs, advancing Andreya Flores to scoring position. The Blue Devils were able to end the inning when Hayden Salter fouled out to third.

Both teams remained scoreless for the first five innings.

CCSU ended the scoring drought and got on the board in the top of the sixth. Paige Stringer sent a fly ball to center field to score Desaulniers from first.

This proved to be the winning run as the Blue Devils held the Knights off in the final inning to win 1-0.

Kaylee Whittaker pitched all three games, fanning nine batters and improving her record in the pitching circle to 16-7.

Desaulniers scored the lone run in today's game and had one of CCSU's two hits.
