Men's Soccer Tripped Up at UMass on Monday
The Blue Devils were unable to score an equalizer to overcome UMass' second-half tally
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback at UMass in Amherst, MA on Monday. The Minutemen scored the game's only goal with just under a half-hour to play and would hold off the Blue Devils' attempt to even the score.
The Blue Devils will head to Olean, NY to play St. Bonaventure on Friday, September 1.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Minutemen got the game's first scoring opportunity with a free kick inside the CCSU half. Nick Zielonka put a low shot on frame that Mick Sipples was able to deflect away with just over 30 minutes remaining.
- With 28:52 remaining, Alec Hughes picked up a loose ball in the 18-yard box and poked it into the back of the net to make it 1-0.
- Birk Martinsen would generate a chance for the Blue Devils when he dribbled in from the wing and sent a shot on target from 20 yards, but Matt Zambetti made the save with 18 minutes to play.
- The Blue Devils would have a throw in with under eight minutes to play. The long throw from Ola Telje would find its way to Andres Aldeguer, but his low shot from the right side in the penalty box would be stopped by Zambetti.
