
Farias-Martinez, Rocke Earn All-NEC Second Team Recognition
The Northeast Conference announced its major award winners and all-conference teams on Tuesday
Juniors Ivan Farias-Martinez and Austin Rocke of the Central Connecticut men's soccer team were recognized with Northeast Conference postseason honors it was announced by the league on Tuesday. The duo were named Second Team All-NEC with Farias-Martinez being selected as a defender and Rocke being chosen as a midfielder.
ALL-NORTHEAST CONFERENCE AWARDS
Farias-Martinez was named to the All-NEC Second Team for the second time in his career. He was a leader on the CCSU defense, appearing in 14 games and starting 13 contests. He notched an assist in the win at St. Bonaventure and another against Le Moyne. Farias-Martinez also helped the Blue Devils notch a pair of shutouts on the season. An NEC Academic Honor Roll selection, he has appeared in 50 career games with five assists.
Rocke was the driving force behind the Blue Devils' attack this season. Rocke started all 14 contests and totaled 23 shots. He scored in three straight games from September 19 to October 1, including notching the game-winner against Quinnipiac and scoring twice against Le Moyne. He ranked fourth in the NEC in goals (7) and sixth in points (15). In conference-only games, Rocke was sixth in goals scored (5) and seventh in points (10). Rocke is an NEC Academic Honor Roll choice and has played 41 career games with 10 career goals and two assists.
