Men's Soccer Falls to UMass Lowell in Homestand Finale
CCSU returns to action at UConn on Tuesday
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team closed a three-game homestand, falling to UMass Lowell, 5-0, on Saturday night in New Britain, CT. The River Hawks scored two goals in the first half and added three after halftime.
The Blue Devils close out non-conference play with a game at UConn on Tuesday.

KEY MOMENTS
- UMass Lowell opened the scoring in the 12th minute after Shunnosuke Nakajima had his initial shot turned away by Daniel Wilmore, Guillermo Frances Poquet would put home the rebound to make it 1-0.
- The River Hawks doubled the lead five minutes later when Javier Torres set up Francs Poquet for his second score of the game.
- UML would tack on a pair of goals in a three-minute span early in the second half. Daniele Mastroianni and Inaki Esnaola would push the lead to 4-0.
- Michael Oliveri, Jr. scored off a pass by Jonathan Ferreira in the 79th minute to close out the scoring.
- CCSU nearly got on the board with 10 minutes to go when Gabriel Tucker had a header off a corner kick from close range, but it was tipped away by Adam Henry.
NOTES
- UMass Lowell has won the past three matchups and leads the all-time series, 3-2.
- Wilmore made five saves for CCSU, while Julian Layne came in in the second half and finished with two saves.
- Giulio Potenti had a team-high three shots for CCSU.
