Men's Soccer Tops Howard on Senior Day, 2-1
The Blue Devils scored two second half goals.
The Central Connecticut men's soccer rallied for a 2-1 win over Howard in Northeast Conference action on Sunday in New Britain. The Blue Devils scored a pair of goals in the second half, while getting a strong defensive stand to hold off the Bison for the win.
Central will close out the regular season at Merrimack on Thursday.

KEY MOMENTS
- Howard opened the scoring early in the contest, drawing a free kick just outside the penalty box in the sixth minute. Nathan Leggett stepped up for the kick and sent a shot directly into the upper right corner to make it 1-0.
- The Blue Devils would equalize just five minutes into the second half. Zane Brown played a pass ahead to Austin Rocke, who would slip the shot by the goalkeeper at the post to make it 1-1.
- Central would find the game-winner with just over five minutes to play. On a free kick just over midfield, Birk Martinsen sent his kick to the far post where Jakob Welle would get a foot to it and tuck it in for the difference.
- Daniel Wilmore would make a pair of outstanding saves in the final 10 minutes, including with just over 90 seconds to play when he stopped Leggett's shot to tie the game.

- CCSU is 3-1-1 in five meetings against Howard.
- Rocke tallied his team-leading sixth goal of the season, while Welle collected his third.
- Wilmore finished with three saves.
- CCSU recognized its group of seniors prior to the game. Rocke, Welle, Brown, Martinsen, Joseph Boakye, Diego Ramirez, Kyle Halehale, Ivan Farias-Martinez, Johnny Morell and Ola Telje were all honored.
