
Men's Soccer Shutout at Sacred Heart on Sunday
CCSU was unable to overcome goals by SHU on each side of halftime.
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team lost at Sacred Heart, 2-0, on Sunday at Campus Field. The Pioneers scored in each half and turned away three CCSU scoring chances in the second half.

KEY MOMENTS
- The scoring was opened in the 27th minute when the Pioneers played a ball wide to David Garcia Gallego. His shot was turned away by Daniel Wilmore, but the rebound came to Matthias Dick who kicked it in for a 1-0 lead.
- The Central attack would press for a tying-goal getting shots on goal from Giulio Potenti and Austin Rocke in the opening half-hour of the second half, but Andrew Hammersley would make a pair of saves.
- Sacred Heart doubled the lead with 10 minutes remaining when they set up a free kick in the offensive half. Dick would set the goal up with a kick into the area that got to the foot of Koke Gracia Martinez to make it 2-0.

- The Pioneers have won two straight and are unbeaten in the last three meetings in the series
- CCSU had a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
