Senior men's soccer player Robert
Cavener was named a First Team All-Northeast Conference
selection for the second straight season on Thursday night.
Cavener led the Blue Devils in scoring in 2010 with three goals and
four assists. He was also named to the First Team last season.
Cavener is now a three-time All-NEC honoree and makes his second
straight appearance on the first team lineup. Previously honored
for his work in the midfield, Cavener made the successful
transition to defender this past season without sacrificing his
offensive contributions. Cavener led the Blue Devils with three
goals, four assists and 10 points on the year.
Cavener, a two-year captain for the Blue Devils, was also named an
Academic All-District selection earlier this month. He is one of 13
student-athletes in the District I region to be selected. He
advanced to the national ballot with a chance of earning Academic
All-America honors. Cavener was also a first team regional
selection last season.
Cavener is also a two-time NSCAA All-Region selection following his
sophomore and junior seasons.
