Central Places 4th at Bethune Cookman

The Central Connecticut women's golf team sealed a fourth place final standing on the Bethune Cookman University Gary Freeman Invitational leaderboard. Central shot a 336 on day one and a 340 in the finale of the two-day tournament, resulting in a 676 total team score. Host Bethune Cookman claimed victory in the tournament (633) followed by second place South Carolina State (660), third place Florida Atlantic (671), Central, and Hampton (677) who rounded out the top five.
Bethune Cookman hosted the two-day tournament which was held at the LPGA International Legends Course in Daytona Beach, FL. The tournament marked Central Connecticut's spring season debut.
Junior Anna Ausanio led the Blue Devils shooting a 159 for the tournament, good for a seventh place ranking in the individual competition. Ausanio posted a 76 on the first day followed by an 83 on the final day. Her performance marks the junior's second top-ten individual finish this season.
Albrianna Farnum followed her opening round 85 with an 86 on day two, tying for 19th place individually. She tallied a 171 for the tournament. A pair of Blue Devils finished tied for 21st in the individual field. Juniors Katie Reid and Stephanie Bednar both posted final scores of 173. Reid shot an 84 on the final day and Bednar penciled in an 87 on her final score card in the tournament's finale. Sophomore Elisabeth Beloin shot an 88 and finished tied for 32nd (186).
Central will return to action on March 5th-6th at the LIU Brooklyn Lonnie Barton Invitational in Savannah, GA.
