Women's Golf 14th at Rutgers
Junior Katie Reid was the top Blue Devil, she finished in a tie for 50th.
The Central Connecticut women's golf team finished 14th at the Rutgers Invitational this weekend. The Blue Devils posted a team score of 670 over 36 holes on the Rutgers University Golf Course. Junior Katie Reid was the top Central golfer at the event. She finished tied for 30th.
Reid followed her first round 82 with a 78 in today's round. It was the best 18-hole score for a Blue Devil golfer in the tournament. She finished with 160 total strokes.
Freshman Albrianna Farnum shot a 168 for the tournament. She posted rounds of 87 and 81 to finish tied for 57th. Junior Stephanie Bednar earned a share of 62nd with a 169 stroke performance. Her rounds were 86 and 83.
Junior Anna Ausanio finished tied for 79th with rounds of 88 and 87 for a 175 stroke total. Sophomore Gina Grant also shared 79th with 175 strokes. Her round totals were 90 and 85 for the tournament.
The Central shot a 327 in the final round to move up three places in the team standings.
Boston College took the team title with a 616 stroke performance. Rutgers finished second and St. John's, Seton Hall and Delaware rounded out the top-five.
Kortnie Maxoutopoulis captured the individual honors with a score of 150 after matching rounds of 75.
The Blue Devils will return to action on October 23, at the Rutgers Invitational.
