Women's Golf Tied for Fourth at ECAC
Junior Katie Reid finished tied for seventh in the first round and junior Stephanie Bednar finished tied for 16th.
The Central Connecticut women's golf team finished round one play at the 2011 E.C.A.C. Women's Golf Championships in a tie for fourth place. The Blue Devils posted a team score of 331 strokes, led by junior Katie Reid's 78.
Reid posted a first round 78, on the strength of her back-nine 38. She also posted a solid 40 on the front side to earn her share of seventh place finish. Junior Stephanie Bednar was right behind in a tie for 16th with a score of 82. She posted a 40 on the front and a 42 on the back side.
Also scoring for the Blue Devils were junior Anna Ausanio and sophomore Elisabeth Beloin, who were tied for 21st and 45th, respectivly. Ausanio posted a 43-40 split to post an 83. Beloin shot 43 and 45 to finish with 88 strokes.
Sophomore Gina Grant was the fifth Blue Devil golfer she shot a 92 in the first round. She was tied for 55th.
Dartmouth College is in the lead after the first round with a score of 308. Lauren Petty of Hofstra is the individual leader with a first round 69.
The ECAC Championships will finish with 18 holes tomorrow on the Twisted Dunes Course in Egg Harbor, NJ.
