Women's Golf Stands Ninth at Towson
Blue Devils will play the second round on rain soaked course on Monday
The Central Connecticut women's golf team stands in ninth place after the first day of the Towson Women's Invitational being hosted by Towson University. The tournament is being held at the Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, MD.
The first round was delayed due to heavy rain and lightning, and the delay lasted almost one hour.
William and Mary leads the team competition with a round one score of 313. The Blue Devils shot a 333 in the first round and is ninth in the 14-team field.
For the Blue Devils junior Anna Ausanio led the way with a 79, followed by an 83 from junior Katie Reid. Sophomore Elisabeth Beloin shot a day one score of 85, followed by an 86 from freshman Albrianna Farnum and an 89 from junior Stephanie Bednar.
The second and final round will be played on Monday.
