Central Tied for 4th After Day One
Anna Ausanio leads the Blue Devils on the first day of competition.
The Central Connecticut women's golf team stands tied for fourth on the leader board after day one of the Bethune Cookman University Gary Freeman Invitational. The Blue Devils are locked up with Florida Atlantic (336). Bethune Cookman (318) tops the leader board after the first day, South Carolina State is second (330), and Hampton third (331). The two-day tournament is being hosted at the LPGA International golf course in Daytona Beach, FL.
Junior Anna Ausanio leads the Blue Devils shooting a 76 on the first day of competition. She is tied for second in the individual field. Ausanio's day one mark ties her season low round score.
The rest of the field showed a solid performance for the Blue Devils on the tournament's opening day. Freshman Albrianna Farnum stands tied for 16th (85) in the individual competition. Junior Stephanie Bednar shot an 86, good for a 19th place tie.
Tournament play will resume on Tuesday, February 29th. This will be the second and final day of competition.
