Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Rhode Island Invitational
Sebastianelli finishes in second place shooting 71-71
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished in fourth place in the one-day, two-round Rhode Island Invitational on Tuesday. The tournament was originally scheduled to begin on Monday but was moved to a one-day format due to inclement weather on Monday. The Blue Devils held the first round lead shooting a 295 in the first round on Tuesday morning. In the afternoon they shot 299 and finished nine strokes being Rhode Island and Rollins who tied for the tournament title.
URI and Rollins shot 585, followed by Saint John's (593) and then CCSU (594). Lafayette rounded out the top five with a score of 597.
Senior Anthony Sebastianelli tied for second place with scores of 71-71 (172), tying for the overall lead but eventually falling to tournament winner Will Halamndaris in a playoff on the first hole. Sebastianelli was one of two Blue Devils to finish in the top five. Freshman Nick Piersall shot 74-73 and tied for ninth place.
Sophomore Arthur Ouimet shot 73-77 and finished in a tie for 20th place overall. Senior Brandon Raine shot 77-78 and was tied for 41st place. Freshman Joe Tucker shot 80-79 and finished in a tie for 52nd place.
Playing as individuals sophomores Andrew Szandrocha (82-85) and John Aitken (87-83) finished in 61st and 65th place respectively.
