Men's Golf in Seventh Place After Day One of Macdonald Cup at Yale
Sebastianelli tied for 12th place overall
The Central Connecticut men's golf team sits in seventh place after the first two rounds of the Macdonald Cup on Saturday. Central shot a team score of 286 in the first round and followed that up with a score of 299 in the second. The third and final round will be played on Sunday. The tournament is being played at the Course at Yale, and is a par-70, 6,825 yards long.
Senior Anthony Sebastianelli leads the Blue Devils and sits in a tie for 12th place overall after shooting rounds of 74 and 69 in the first two rounds on Saturday. His 69 in round two included four birdies on the back nine. It was tied for the third best round on the entire day in the 81 player field.
The Blue Devils sit in seventh place as a team. Yale leads with a score of 564, followed by Stirling University (566), Harvard (577), Dartmouth (580), Bucknell (582), Princeton (583) and then CCSU (585). There are 14 total teams in the tournament.
Sebastianelli sits five shots out of the lead, while senior Brandon Raine shot 70-76 and is in a tie for 20th place overall. Sophomore Drew Aitken shot 72-75 and is tied for 30th place overall.
Freshman Joe Tucker shot 70-80 and is tied for 48th place. Sophomore John Aitken shot 84-79 and is in 77th place.
The third and final round will take place on Sunday morning.
