Blue Devils Lead After Day One at Metropolitan Intercollegiate
Anthony Sebastianelli sits in third place overall
The Central Connecticut men's golf team sits in first place after the first day of the Metropolitan Intercollegiate being held at the Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, NJ. The tournament is being hosted by Wagner College.
Central shot a day one score of 293 to lead the 12 team field. Every Blue Devils who played sits in the top 20 of the 64 player field. They have a seven stroke lead over second place Fairleigh Dickinson (299), followed by Manhattan (300), Sacred Heart (301) and Monmouth (303) who rounds out the top five. The tournament also consists of Northeast Conference members St. Francis Brooklyn (T6th, 304) and Wagner (T6th, 304). Hofstra and St. Peter's are tied for eighth with scores of 305, followed by Fairfield (307) and Iona (309).
Senior Anthony Sebastianelli sits in third place after posting a first round score of 70. Sophomore Drew Aitken and freshman Nicholas Piersall each shot 74 and sit in a tie for 10th place overall.
Senior Brandon Raine and sophomore Arthur Ouimet each shot 75 and sit in a tie for 19th place overall.
The second round of the tournament will take place on Tuesday.
