Men's Golf Sits Fourth After Day One at Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge

The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished the opening round of play at the Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge in fourth-place at Quechee Club in Quechee, VT. Freshman Joe Tucker is tied for the individual lead after shooting a two-under par 70 on the first day.

The Blue Devils shot a round one team score of 290 and are just one stroke behind Princeton (289) for third. Cornell and Harvard are tied for the team lead after the first day with a team score of 285. Bucknell shot 293 as a team to round out the top five in the field of 14 teams.
Tucker carded seven birdies in the opening round to lead the field of 86 golfers. Senior Anthony Sebastianelli shot a one-under par 71 in the first round, and sits just a stroke off the lead in a tie for fourth-place.
Senior Brandon Raine shot 73, one-over, to tie for 17th-place overall. Sophomore Drew Aitken carded a 76 in the first day and classmate Arthur Ouimet shot a 77 to round out the five-player team field for the Blue Devils.
Freshman Nick Piersall, competing as an individual, shot a 77 and is tied for 50th. Freshman Thomas Downing is also competing as an individual and shot an opening-round 82 to tie for 77th place.
The second and final round will be played on Sunday morning.
