Men's Golf Ties for Fifth Place at Macdonald Cup at Yale
Blue Devils shoot 299 in final round to move up two spots
The Central Connecticut men's golf team shot a round three score of 299 and finished in a tie for fifth place at the Macdonald Cup on Sunday. The tournament is hosted by Yale and is played at The Course at Yale, a par 70 course. The Blue Devils finished with a three round score of 884, three shots out of fourth place.
Yale won the team title with a score of 852, followed by Stirling University (853), Harvard (874), Yale B (881) and then CCSU, who finished tied with Princeton with a score of 884. There were 14 total teams in the tournament.
Freshman Joe Tucker fired the top round of the day for the Blue Devils with a -1 score of 69. He had five birdies in his round including four on the back nine. He finished tied for 17th place overall with a total score of +9 (219). His 69 on Sunday matched the best individual round of the entire day.
Senior Anthony Sebastianelli finished in a tie for 13th place after finishing at +7 (217) after a round of 74 on sunday. He also had a 69 on Saturday in the second round of the tournament.
Senior Brandon Raine shot a 74 on Sunday and finished in a tie for 20th place overall with a score of +10 (220).
Sophomore Drew Aitken shot 82 on Sunday and finished at +19 (229) in a tie for 52nd place. Classmate John Aitken shot 87 and finished in 77th place with a final count of 250.
