Men's Golf Tops Bryant and Holy Cross in Tri-Match on Saturday and Sunday
Sophomore Drew Aitken wins medalist honors
The Central Connecticut men's golf team topped Bryant and Holy Cross in a two-day tri-match on Saturday and Sunday. The Blue Devils led after the first round, which was completed on Sunday morning, and then used a solid second round to claim the victory.
Central posted a two round score of 586 to claim a 10 shot victory. They shot 285 in the first round and held an 18 shot over both Bryant and Holy Cross. Bryant finished with a score of 596 and Holy Cross shot 604 over the two days.
Sophomore Drew Aitken won medalist honors for the Blue Devils shooting a round two score of 73. He fired a 70 in the first round and his 143 was one shot better than senior teammate Anthony Sebastianelli (69-75).
Freshman Thomas Downing, playing as an individual, finished in fourth place with a two round score of 147 (75-72). Freshman Nick Piersall and sophomore Arthur Ouimet, playing as an individual, each shot 149 to tie for seventh place overall. Each shot 73 in the first round and 76 in the second.
Freshman Joe Tucket shot 73-77 to finish in 10th place for the Blue Devils.
