Mullen Named All-Conference
Sophomore won medalist honors twice during the season
Sophomore men's golfer Monte Mullen was named to the All-Northeast Conference Second Team on Friday. Mullen most recently finished in a tie for 22nd place at the Northeast Conference Championships in Daytona Beach, FL.
Mullen shot 81-77-74 to finish +16 in the NEC Championships, improving his score by seven strokes on day two of the tournament. The first 36 holes were played on the same day.
On the year Mullen was the most consistent golfer for the Blue Devils, averaging 75.1 strokes through 25 rounds and finishing with five top-10 performances on the season.
Mullen won the CCSU Invite in the Fall with round of 74 and 67. His best round of the year came at Yale when he shot a 66. He had two rounds in the 60's on the year and five rounds at 71 or better.
Mullen also tied for first place at the St. Peter's Metro Honda Peacock Invitational in April. The Blue Devils finished second as a team in the tournament.
