Men's Golf T4th at CCSU Invitational
Central is tied for fourth place after day one of the CCSU Invitational.
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished day one of the CCSU Fall Invitational in a fourth place tie with Iona. The Blue Devils shot a 308 in the tournament's opening round, just eight strokes off of the tournament leader St. Peter's.
Sophomore Monte Mullen led the Blue Devils on Saturday shooting a 38 on his first nine followed by a 36. Mullen carded a 74 after round one, the top score for a Blue Devil. Mullen is currently tied for second individually and just two strokes off of the tournament's individual leader.
Also placing in the individual top-ten for Central after round one was senior Matthew DeJohn. The senior marked down a 75 after carding a 36 and a 39 in his first 18 tying him for sixth.
Seniors Greg Beloin and Dan Fanion followed DeJohn on the leader board after writing in a 79 and 80 respectively. Beloin is tied for 29th while Fanion is tied for 36th place individually. Freshman Connor Murphy also tallied an 80 and is tied with teammate Fanion for 36th.
The second and final round of the tournament will be held tomorrow, Sunday, September 9th.
