Hollomon Tops FCS in All-Purpose Yards Per Game
Junior running back Rob Hollomon was named NCAA FCS Statistical Champion in All-Purpose Yards Per Game.
With college football season officially over, Central Connecticut junior running back Rob Hollomon has been named the NCAA FCS statistical champion for all-purpose yards per game. Hollomon earned the honor by finishing the season with a national best 189.17 all-purpose yards per game.
Hollomon's success previously earned him the all-purpose position on the The Sports Network FCS All-America Second Team. Hollomon also earned second team All-Northeast Conference honors at both running back and kick return specialist.
Prior to the season, Hollomon was a Preseason All-NEC selection at running back and return specialist. He was also name to The Sports Network FCS Preseason All-America Third Team at the all-purpose position.
Hollomon edged out Saint Francis U running back Kyle Harbridge to top FCS in the category. Harbridge averaged 188.18 all-purpose yards per game.
Hollomon totaled 2,270 all-purpose yards in his second season with the Blue Devils after transferring from Kent State. His yards broke down to 1,452 rushing, 223 receiving, 591 on kick returns and four on punt returns.
Hollomon scored 19 touchdowns with 18 coming on the ground.
In just two seasons, he has climbed to third on the Blue Devils' career rushing list with 2,556 yards. He also ranks fifth on the career scoring list with 150 points.
Hollomon's 1,452 rushing yards in 2013 rank as the third highest single-season total in school history and he is one of just four CCSU players to have two 1,000-yard rushing seasons in a career.
