Hollomon Named All-NEC, CCSU Picked Sixth
The Blue Devils were picked sixth in the NEC Preseason Poll.
The Northeast Conference held its annual preseason conference call via Google Hangout on Monday, August 12. During the hangout the NEC announced the annual preseason poll and All-NEC Team. Junior Rob Hollomon was named Preseason All-NEC at the running back and kick/punt returner positions. The Blue Devils were picked to finish sixth in the NEC, both the poll and the all-conference team were voted on by the NEC's coaches.

Defending champion Wagner was tapped as the preseason favorite. Duquesne was picked second, followed by Bryant, Robert Morris and Saint Francis U. The Blue Devils were sixth with Sacred Heart wrapping up the poll in seventh place.
Hollomon earned the nod as one of two running backs on the All-NEC Team and the squads lone kick returner. Hollomon has earned national preseason honors at both the running back and return positions, including a Third Team All-America selection as an all-purpose performer by The Sports Network.
Hollomon finished his first season at CCSU with 1,104 rushing yards and 1,710 all-purpose yards. His 110.4 rushing yards and 171.0 all-purpose yards per game led the NEC. Hollomon also became just the second player in NEC history to rush for 200+ yards in back-to-back conference games. In those same two games, he posted 377 and 307 all-purpose yards, with the former being CCSU's Division I program record.
The Blue Devils open the 2013 season on August 31, at James Madison University. CCSU visits Lehigh on September 7, and then hosts Holy Cross on September 14, for the home opener at Arute Field.
