Griebel Leads Blue Devils at ECACs
Graduate student finishes 12th on Saturday to lead CCSU to 13th place finish
Central Connecticut graduate student Alasia Griebel, the 2011 Northeast Conference women's individual cross country champion, finished 13th overall and led the CCSU women to a 12th place finish at the ECAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday.
Griebel finished the 5k course at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx in 18:41, good for the 12th place finish and only 35 seconds off the winning time of 18:06.
The Blue Devils finished in 13th place out of 22 teams on Saturday.
Sophomore Elizabeth Eberhardt ran 19:13 to finish 35th, while classmate Krisztina Dearborn ran 19:17 and finished 40th.
Freshman Shannon McBride finished in 69th place with a time of 19:38. Senior Amanda Asaro finished in just under 20 minutes with a time of 19:58 and finished in 98th position.
Senior Sara Larkin (145, 20:37) and freshman Megan MacBryde (178, 21:38) rounded out the finishing times for the Blue Devils.
Central's team score of 247 was good for 13th place.
