Women's XC Third at Mini-Meet
Eberhardt finished fifth and Griebel sixth to pace the Blue Devils at the Mini-Meet.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team finished third at the CCSU Mini-Meet on Friday afternoon. The 3K race serves as the final tune-up for the Blue Devils before the Northeast Conference Championship meet. Central posted a team score of 63, led by four Blue Devils who finished in the top-10.
Sophomore Elizabeth Eberhardt led the group finishing in fifth place. Right behind her was senior Alasia Griebel in sixth. Eberhardt posted a time of 10:27 and Griebel 10:30.
Senior Amanda Asaro also placed in the top-10, she crossed the line in ninth place with a time of 10:42. Sophomore Krisztina Dearborn notched a 15th place finish with a time of 10:52 and sophomore Megan MacBryde finished the team score with a 28th place finish and an 11:24 time.
Seniors Sara Larkin and Katrina Ainsworth also competed for the Blue Devils. Larkin ran the course in 11:36 and Ainsworth in 12:48.
Providence College won the meet with a score of 37, behind the one two punch of Shelby Greany and Emily Sisson. Both finished in 10:06, breaking the course record set of 10:08 set last year by their teammate Mary-Katie Champagne.
Quinnipiac finished just ahead of the Blue Devils with a team score of 49.
The Blue Devils will return to action next weekend at the Northeast Conference Championships. The NEC Championships will be hosted my Monmouth in Holmdel, NJ.
