Women's XC 26th at Regionals
Sophomore Krisztina Dearborn led the Blue Devils with a 99th place finish.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team finished 26th at the 2011 NCAA Cross Country Regional on Saturday. The Blue Devils were one of 36 teams in the field for the meet, which was run on the Audubon Golf Course near the campus of the University of Buffalo.
The Blue Devils were led by sophomore Krisztina Dearborn and 2011 Northeast Conference Champion Alasia Griebel. Dearborn was the team's top finisher coming in 99th with a time of 22:58.6. Griebel came across the line 121st with a 23:17.7 performance.
Sophomore Elizabeth Eberhardt finished 151st with a 23:48.0 performance. She was followed by senior Amanda Asaro and freshman Shannon McBride. Asaro finish 179th in a time of 24:18.6. McBride finished 188th with a 24:30.0 time.
Senior Sara Larkin and freshman Megan MacBryde displaced for the Blue Devils. Larkin placed 220th and MacBryde finished 231st.
The Blue Devils will return to action next weekend at the IC4A/ECAC Championships. That event will be held at Van Cortland Park in Bronx, NY.
