Men's Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award
Blue Devils honored for having team GPA of 3.20 in 2014-15.
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team was honored with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 season, the NSCAA announced Wednesday. The Blue Devils earned the honor by maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 over the academic year.
A total of 859 soccer teams (305 men, 554 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 academic year.
Of that total, 208 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized, including CCSU. The Central women's squad maintained a 3.54.
The CCSU men's soccer team was one of three honored from the Northeast Conference, joining LIU Brooklyn and Saint Francis U on the prestigious list.
The Blue Devils continue the 2015 season with a non-conference tilt against Hartford on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. from CCSU Soccer Field.
